So much of the origin of civilization can be found in the unearthed antiquities of northern Africa while a majority of the rest of the ‘Dark’ continent provides wildlife refuges, forested jungles and native cultures struggling to survive.  Of course, a number of areas are blessed with mineral riches and cultures that tend to blend European influence with native cultures emerging as independent countries.  Safaris and natural wonders predominate, while the northern coastal areas provide Moroccan and Egyptian antiquities and culture.
