Antarctica - One of the most awe-inspiring places on earth
Earth’s southern most continent lies almost entirely south of the Antarctic Circle.  It is surrounded by the Southern Ocean.  Without a doubt one of the most awe-inspiring places on earth, it is the least explored and least inhabited, yet people are drawn to this place again and again.  Almost 98% of Antarctica is covered by ice.  There are no permanent residents but between 1,000 and 5,000 people reside there at research stations throughout the continent.
